Yonathan Suissa countertenor
Yonathan Suissa was born in Paris. He graduated from the Israel Conservatory of Music in piano and harpsichord and from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University as a singer, in Opera. He received a Sharet Foundation scholarship in harpsichord and singing.
Yonathan has participated in various festivals, recitals, productions and master classes and he sang as a soloist with various Baroque ensembles and orchestras.
In the field of opera, he sang the role of Tamino from the magic flute at YMCA, Jerusalem (2021), the role of Acis from Acis and Galatea at the Buchman-Metha School of Music, Tel Aviv University (2022), The role of Box in Cox and Box By A.Sullivan with the Israel Chamber Orchestra Ramat-Gan under the direction of Maestro Aviv Ron. Yonathan is intended to sing the role of Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream by B.Britten at the IVAI Tel-Aviv Summer Opera Program in July 2023.
He is a member of Ensemble PHOENIX since 2021.
