Noam Schuss


Noam Schuss is one of the top baroque musicians in Israel. In her role as principal violinist of the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, she often plays as a soloist and chamber musician. She also plays with the PHOENIX Ensemble, the Israeli Mozart players and more.

Schuss finds a special interest in reviving the violin repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries. In the spring of 2023 she was invited to play Leclair's Violin Concerto in Montreal in collaboration with the Canadian Caprice Ensemble. Recorded many concerts on "The Voice of Music" and on radio stations around the world. She played as a guest in foreign baroque ensembles such as the English Baroque Soloists with Sir John Elliott Gardiner, Copenhagen Soloists, among others. She was an ensemble member and leader in the Tel Aviv Soloists Orchestra.

She holds an M.A. degree from the Eastman School, New York and is a winner of scholarships from the America Israel Cultural Foundation. She studied the modern violin with Ilona Fehr, Ora Sheeran and William Prosel; and the baroque violin with Walter Reiter, Andrew Menze and Katherine Macintosh. She participated in important music festivals in the world such as: Salzburg Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Aspen Festival, etc. Schuss founded and conducts the only baroque orchestra for the youth at the Givatayim Conservatory and also conducts and teaches at the Ramat Hasharon Conservatory.
